Elements Series

Nature and the energy it mirrors inspires me to live and create.  No matter how abstract my work may seem, it always carries with it some element.  The movement of water, air, fire and earth is in everything I paint.

Moonrise

Year:  2018

Medium:  Mixed Media Acrylic on cradled panel with gold metal leaf, and gold mica powder.  Finished cradle frame with acrylic and distressed gold metal leaf.

Dimensions:  18 inches x 24 inches

Description:  Moonrise is a painting about the New Mexico wilderness and all that emanates in the high desert.  Our mountains, high elevation lakes, beautiful pines, sky, and their reflection of a full moon rising with the sunset – it is impossible to capture the honest joy I feel when all of these elements collide into a scene.  Mica flakes from New Mexico’s earth are embedded throughout the abstract pines to capture the light of the gold mica powder moon dancing with the high flow clouds.

Water and Air

Year:  2018

Medium:  Mixed Media Acrylic on cradled panel with gold metal leaf, and clear resin finish.  Finished cradle frame with acrylic and distressed gold metal leaf.

Dimensions:  18 inches x 24 inches

Description:  Water and air are brought together in a muddled horizon with gold settling into the layers of texture beneath the clear resin.  This painting is about the feeling of cool, wet air entering your body with every breath near a dancing body of water.

Autumn

Year:  2019

Medium:  Acrylic on cradled panel with gold metal leaf, and clear resin finish.  Finished cradle frame with acrylic and distressed gold metal leaf.

Dimensions:  18 inches x 24 inches

Description:  Layered colors dancing over gold metal leaf hugging the texture of hard molding paste.  The textures and colors represent the feeling of the mountains and aspens during the sunset in Santa Fe, New Mexico as Autumn descends upon our hearts.
